Our Foundation Program
Our Student Showcase Series is part of our 12-week choreography-based foundation program, designed to build performance skills, confidence, and stage-readiness.
Students train in a dedicated routine for the full series and perform in the Student Showcase at the end.

This program is:
- Required for anyone wishing to join our Variety Troupe (unless approved as a guest performer).
- Focused on teaching stage flow, backstage etiquette, costume preparation, and tech rehearsal procedures.
- Ideal for beginners and for experienced dancers wanting structured development.
We run two Foundation Series each year:
Winter and Summer — both end with Double Feature Student Showcases.

Performer Overview
The Freestyle Cabaret is our spontaneous, open-format 18+ late-night show where creativity leads the way.
This special Open Mic edition blends live singing, freestyle dance, and collaborative performance. Artists may choose music in the moment or come in with flexible ideas — creating a dynamic, ever-changing experience.

This special Open Mic edition blends live singing, freestyle dance, and collaborative performance. Artists may choose music in the moment or come in with flexible ideas — creating a dynamic, ever-changing experience.
It’s low pressure, high creativity, and designed to help you build confidence, improvisation skills, and stage presence.
✨ What Makes This Event Different
This is not a traditional, fully structured show.
- Performers may freestyle to live vocals
- Singers and dancers may collaborate in real time
- Some acts may be planned, others completely spontaneous
We’re creating an environment where performers can explore, connect, and create together.
🎤 Performer Selection
We hand-select a small group of performers for each Freestyle Cabaret.
For this event, performers may include:
- Singers
- Pole artists
- Aerialists
- Dancers (all styles)
- Flow artists
- Unique or experimental performance styles
👉 Additional open mic moments may be available during the event.
💛 Event Format
- 18+ event | 21+ to drink (ID required)
- Donation-based entry
- Performers keep their tips
This supports both the artist and the nonprofit’s mission while keeping the event accessible to the community.
🪩 Performer Participation
Each selected performer will:
- Prepare 1–2 flexible performance ideas or styles
- Bring song options or be open to choosing music live
- Be open to collaboration and freestyle moments
- Submit a short intro (stage name + fun fact) for promotion
🤝 Pre-Event Meetup (Strongly Encouraged)
We will host a Freestyle Performer Meetup + Rehearsal:

Aerialists, singers, flow artists, comedy, chair, pole, burlesque, and more.
- Acts can be solo, duet, or group
- Must have completed a 12-week series, a show dedicated mini series OR be approved as a guest
- Opportunities for emcees, audio/DJ, backstage, and volunteer roles
If you are approved to perform in this show you'll be sent a link to join

- Perfect for new performers or for testing out new act ideas in a lighter environment
